What is the
Absorb Mat made of? The super absorbent top side of the mat is
made of polypropylene. The backing is a non-penetrable vinyl. The two
materials are heat bonded together. Polypropylene is the same material used to
clean-up ocean oil spills. The mat is about one-eight inch thick. It is
non-flammable in it's original state.

How
often do I need to replace the mat? If you are using the mat to
absorb oil (transmission fluids, motor oil, grease, etc)
replace the mat once it becomes saturated (fluid leaking over the edge). All
other liquids such as antifreeze, water, etc will evaporate. The mat will
absorb as before once it dries out. If you are using the mat under a vehicle
in your garage or driveway, a 3' x 5' mat should last three to five years or
more depending upon how bad you vehicle leaks. A 3' x 5' mat will hold
up to two gallons of oil over time.

Can the mat be used outside?
Yes. Rain does not affect the mat. It will absorb water but once it dries
out it will work just fine.

Can I wash the mat
out? Yes, but we do not recommend it if it is saturated with
oil. It is more cost effective and environmentally sound to replace and
recycle the mat. If the mat just has dirt on it you can rinse it off with a
hose and let it air dry or just vacuum it with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

How do I dispose
of the mat? Dispose of in accordance with all local, federal
and state laws. Most cities in the U.S. have a program where on certain days
of each month, homeowners can dispose of old paint, oil, pesticides, etc. If
you have used the mat to capture oil, we suggest you recycle through your city
program.

If
I use the mat outside will it blow away? The Abzorb Mat
is not heavy, a 3' x 5' mat only weighs around 2 pounds. If you live in a
windy area we suggest using silicone adhesive that you can purchase in any
hardware store. It is easy to clean off the concrete if you remove the mat.

tearing, cracking or leaking through.
