Disclaimer:
Car Values Plus and/or its representatives do not recommend for or against the purchase of
any vehicle inspected. The inspection does not constitute a guarantee of the condition of
the vehicle in any way. The inspectors do not evaluate all mechanical systems with
diagnostic equipment and therefore the inspection cannot be considered an indication of
the future performance of any vehicle. Car Values Plus disclaims all liability associated
with the loss or damage arising in connection with ownership or operation of the vehicle
or any hidden or disguised damage and expressly disclaims all warranties and/or guarantees
related to the sale of the vehicle, express or implied. For your protection, we strongly
suggest utilizing an escrow service to allow you the final inspection of the vehicle prior
to your acceptance. For additional information on this service, visit www.vehicleescrow.com . The inspector may not
comment on all vehicle conditions (mechanical or body) that are considered "normal"
for a vehicle of that age. Any errors or
omissions by the inspector verbally or in writing are beyond the control and influence of
Car Values Plus. If you have any questions about the inspection process, you
can e-mail us at inspections@carvaluesplus.com
or call us at 914 561 1185.
A Used Car Condition Report is the result of an
inspection conducted by an automotive expert to ascertain the overall
condition of an automobile. The report consists of a thorough inspection of the automobile
in question. It includes a mechanical check (engine and drivetrain), plus
a thorough examination of the interior and exterior. To read about how
the inspection is done, click HERE.
After the inspection is completed, the inspector will discuss his
findings with you. A "hard copy" is then sent by regular mail. A sample report can be viewed by clicking HERE. The sample
reflects the scope and content of an inspection. Because we are constantly upgrading our
forms, the actual report may vary in appearance.
Yes, you can. Many times the person selling the car might mention potential
problem areas on a car. For example: "The car is in great shape other than a
small dent in the trunk lid". When you order your Condition Report, you can
request that special attention be paid to the trunk lid area.
The Condition Reports are done on a rush basis. Our
inspectors are instructed to contact the selling party as soon as possible. The
turn-around time depends on a number of factors, including when the vehicle becomes
available by the vehicle owner. Also, the inspections are done Monday through
Friday. So, when a Condition Report request is received on a Friday, it is going
to take two extra days to get done. To insure proper service, the best
thing to do is request the Condition Report as soon as you find a car you are interested
in.
No, the Condition Report does not certify or infer any type of
warranty on the vehicle inspected. The purpose of the "report" is to make the
consumer aware of any obvious or apparent defects that exist at the time of the
inspection. You will gain the benefit of an independent opinion from an automobile expert
on the overall condition of the vehicle being inspected. Mechanical Warranties can be arranged through our
site that would cover most unforeseen mechanical problems after the purchase. We
never recommend the purchase of any vehicle inspected. For your protection, we
strongly suggest using an escrow service that will allow you to inspect the car before
purchasing. For information on an escrow service, please visit www.vehicleescrow.com .
How do I know if you have inspectors
in area I need?
We will not process your order until we confirm that an inspector is
available in the area that you request. We currently have 80% coverage of the continental
United States.

What is your cancellation
policy?

there is a $50.00 cancellation fee. The balance of your order will
be refunded.

How much does a Condition Report cost?
The Condition Reports cost $169.95. There may be a
mileage charge if the vehicle is more than 50 miles from the nearest inspector. In most
cases, the charge is $169.95. If there is a mileage charge, you will be
notified before the order is processed.

I would like to know the value too. Is
this included?
No, the value is not included in the Condition Report. You can
either check our Free
Used Car Value section or we can determine the market value by ordering a Quik-Eval Market Value Evaluation.

Do you do compression
checks and use diagnostic devices?
No, we do not. We are trying to keep the cost of the
Condition Reports affordable to everyone. If the inspectors were required
to make a large investment in diagnostic equipment and a van to transport them in, the
cost of the inspection would double (if not more). There are inspection services that
utilize such equipment in their inspections and you will find (in most cases) that
their services are priced accordingly.

Does the vehicle have to be brought somewhere for the inspection?
No, the inspector will go to wherever the vehicle is
located. There may be a mileage charge if the vehicle is more than 50 miles
from the nearest inspector. In most cases, the charge is $169.95. If
there is a mileage charge, you will be notified before the order is processed.

Can I talk to the
inspector?
You sure can! The inspector will be instructed to
contact you with the results. If it all crosses somehow, we will be glad to review the
report with you by telephone.

What is the difference
between a Condition Report and an Appraisal?
To summarize, a Condition Report is a pre-purchase
inspection to determine the overall operation and condition of the vehicle. Value is not a
consideration as a part of that report. An Appraisal is a determination of market value by
an appraiser. For a detailed explanation of the two services, please click HERE.
